Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn

After the founding of the canton of Jura, the Reformed churches of the cantons of Bern and Jura merged into a synodal association in 1980. Today, many tasks are fulfilled within the association. The jurisdiction of the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn encompasses 217 parishes and three associations of parishes (Bern, Biel, Thun) in the canton of Bern, eight parishes in the upper part of the canton of Solothurn, and the three Reformed parishes of the canton of Jura. There is a special relationship with Fribourg: as entities registered in the cantons of Bern and Fribourg, the parishes of Ferenbalm, Kerzers and Murten belong to both the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn and the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Fribourg.
